Generic: Azithromycin 250mg, a macrolide antibiotic.
Indication: Used for susceptible bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, skin and soft tissues, and certain genital infections.
How it works: Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, stopping bacterial growth.
Dose: Dose and treatment duration depend on the infection and patient; take only as prescribed by a doctor.
Adverse effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal/stomach pain and headache may occur.
Important: Complete the prescribed course and do not use it for common cold or other viral infections.
