  • Uses: Used to treat bacterial respiratory tract infections, sinusitis, throat infections, pneumonia, and certain skin/soft-tissue infections. It may also be used in combination therapy for H. pylori infection.
  • How it works: Clarithromycin binds to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, stopping the growth of susceptible bacteria.
