- Uses: Used for moderate pain and fever, including headache, migraine, toothache, menstrual pain, muscular pain, backache, and short-term post-operative or traumatic pain.
- Mechanism: Paracetamol reduces pain and fever mainly through central prostaglandin inhibition. Codeine acts on opioid receptors and is converted partly to morphine, providing additional central pain relief. Caffeine enhances the analgesic effect of paracetamol and codeine.
- Precautions: This medicine contains codeine and requires prescription use. Avoid alcohol and other medicines containing paracetamol or sedatives. Codeine can cause dependence with prolonged or inappropriate use
