- Type: Foley urinary catheter
- Size: 12 French (Fr), if “12” refers to catheter size
- Uses: Used for urinary drainage from the bladder, commonly when a patient cannot urinate normally or when continuous urine drainage is required.
- How it works: The catheter is inserted through the urethra into the bladder. A small balloon is inflated with sterile water to keep the catheter in place while urine drains through the tube.
- Precautions: Should be inserted and managed using aseptic technique by trained healthcare personnel. Do not use if the package is damaged or sterile seal is broken.
