- Uses: Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults when treatment with either medicine alone is not sufficient.
- How it works: Amlodipine relaxes blood vessels by blocking calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. Valsartan blocks angiotensin II receptors, helping prevent blood-vessel tightening and lowering blood pressure.
- Precautions: Monitor blood pressure and kidney function. Use cautiously with kidney problems, low blood pressure or high potassium. Valsartan should not be used during pregnancy
