- Generic: Amlodipine 5 mg + Telmisartan 40 mg.
- Class: Antihypertensive — calcium-channel blocker + angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB).
- How it works: Amlodipine relaxes blood vessels by blocking calcium entry, while telmisartan blocks angiotensin II, preventing blood-vessel tightening. Together they lower blood pressure.
- Uses: Mainly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce cardiovascular strain.
- Common side effects: Dizziness, headache, flushing, nausea, tiredness and swelling of the ankles/feet.
- Precautions: Use cautiously in liver disease, dehydration, low blood pressure or conditions affecting potassium levels. Not recommended during pregnancy unless specifically directed by a doctor.
