Generic: Atorvastatin 20 mg
How it works: Lowers LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglycerides by reducing cholesterol production in the liver, helping increase HDL (“good”) cholesterol.
Indications: High cholesterol, high triglycerides, and prevention of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke in suitable patients.
Dose: Usually taken once daily, as prescribed by a doctor.
Adverse Effects: Headache, nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, and muscle pain may occur. Rarely, serious muscle or liver problems can develop.
