Uses: Long-term treatment of stable angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart), usually as an add-on to other anti-anginal medicines.
Dosage: Usually 35mg twice daily with meals, or as prescribed by the doctor.
Common Side Effects: Dizziness, headache, abdominal discomfort, nausea, and weakness.
Precautions: Not intended for treating an acute angina attack. Use cautiously in kidney impairment. Trimetazidine is generally avoided in patients with Parkinson’s disease or movement disorders.
