Generic: Glimepiride 2 mg + Metformin 500 mg
Indication: Type 2 diabetes mellitus
How it works: Glimepiride increases insulin release, while metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity
Dose: Usually 1 tablet once daily with a meal, or as prescribed
Common side effects: Nausea, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, headache, and low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
