- Generic/Type: Lisinopril 20 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg — ACE inhibitor + thiazide diuretic combination.
- Uses: Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), particularly when one medicine alone does not provide adequate control.
- How it works: Lisinopril relaxes blood vessels by blocking the ACE enzyme, while hydrochlorothiazide increases the removal of excess salt and water through urine. Together, they lower blood pressure.
- Precautions: Not recommended during pregnancy. Use cautiously with kidney disease, dehydration or abnormal potassium levels. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and electrolytes. May cause dizziness, especially when starting treatment.
