Uses: Used to prevent and treat acute gout attacks and, in some cases, for familial Mediterranean fever (FMF).
Strength: 0.5 mg per tablet
Common Side Effects: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and stomach cramps.
Important: Colchicine has a narrow safety margin and overdose can be life-threatening. Dose adjustment may be necessary in kidney or liver problems, and important interactions occur with medicines such as clarithromycin and certain other CYP3A4/P-gp inhibitors.
Storage: Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.
