- Uses: Used for bacterial eye infections accompanied by inflammation, such as bacterial conjunctivitis, when both an antibiotic and steroid are appropriate.
- How it works: Moxifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA replication, while dexamethasone reduces inflammation, redness and swelling.
- Precautions: Use only as prescribed by an eye specialist. Avoid prolonged use because the steroid may increase eye pressure, delay healing or mask/worsen certain infections. Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye.
