- Uses: Used to relieve allergic rhinitis symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy/watery eyes, and nasal irritation. It is also used for urticaria (hives) and allergy-related itching.
- How it works: Ebastine selectively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors, reducing the effects of histamine responsible for many allergy symptoms.
- Precautions: Use as directed. Inform your doctor if you have liver problems or a history of heart-rhythm abnormalities. Although it generally causes less drowsiness than older antihistamines, drowsiness can still occur in some people.
