- How it works: It blocks SGLT2 in the kidneys, reducing glucose reabsorption and causing excess sugar to be eliminated through urine.
- How to take: Usually once daily, with or without food, as prescribed. Swallow the tablet with water.
- Precautions: Maintain adequate hydration. Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, dehydration, recurrent urinary/genital infections, or if you are fasting or undergoing surgery. It is not used for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
