- Generic/Type: Fusidic Acid 2% w/w + Betamethasone 0.1% w/w — topical antibiotic + corticosteroid combination. Manufactured by Pearl Pharmaceuticals.
- Uses: Used for bacterial skin infections accompanied by inflammation, redness, itching, or dermatitis/eczema with suspected bacterial infection.
- How it works: Fusidic acid inhibits bacterial protein synthesis to control susceptible bacterial infections, while betamethasone reduces inflammation, redness, and itching.
- Precautions: Apply a thin layer only as directed. Avoid prolonged use, large areas, face, eyes, and broken skin unless advised by a doctor. Corticosteroid-containing creams should not generally be used for fungal or viral skin infections.
